On April 24, the United Nations University – Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), marking a significant milestone in strengthening academic collaboration, joint research, and capacity development between the two institutions.
This new partnership lays the groundwork for a dynamic exchange of knowledge and innovation, particularly in the face of growing climate risks. During a recent visit to TUAF, representatives from UNU-EHS had the opportunity to explore the university’s Climate Learning Center, a flagship initiative under the “Learning Center for Zero Emission and Climate Resilience in Northern Viet Nam (LEARN VN)” project. The center is a model for regional and national efforts toward climate resilience and sustainable development.
Moving forward, a key area of collaboration will be integrating quantitative approaches to support more sustainable land use management. The Climate Risk Analytics team at UNU-EHS is keen to work with TUAF and its Climate Learning Center to enhance data-driven strategies contributing to long-term environmental sustainability and resilience in Vietnam.
“Our visit to TUAF was both inspiring and productive. We are grateful for the warm hospitality and thoughtful engagement from our colleagues at TUAF, and we look forward to translating this partnership into a tangible, lasting impact,” said the UNU-EHS delegation.
This partnership reinforces both institutions’ shared commitment to advancing climate science, empowering local communities, and fostering the next generation of environmental leaders.
